My BIble study yesterday was talking about the Antidote to our fear.
Antidote: a medicine taken or given to counteract a particular poison
Fear is the poison we are talking about. And fear is a poison. It keeps us quiet, it keeps us trembling, it keeps us from moving forward. It keeps us from trying, it keeps us from taking the chance to live the fullest life that God has called us to live.
Would yall like to see from God’s word what we can take to couteract our fear? I would.
Joshua 1:1-9
After the death of Moses the servant of the Lord, the Lord said to Joshua the son of Nun, Moses’ assistant,
“Moses my servant is dead. Now therefore arise, go over this Jordan, you and all this people, into the land that I am giving to them, to the people of Israel. Every place that the sole of your foot will tread upon I have given to you, just as I promised to Moses. From the wilderness to Labanon as far as the great river, the river Euphrates, all the land of the Hittities to the Great Sea toward the going down of the sun shall be your territory. No man shall be able to stand before you all the days of your life. Just as I was with Moses, so I will be with you. I will not leave you or forsake you. Be strong and courageous, for you shall cause this people inherit the land that I swore to their fathers to give them. Only be strong and courageous, being careful to do according to all the law that Moses my servant commanded you. Do not turn from it to the right hand or to the left, that you may have good success wherever you go. This Book of the Law shall not depart from your mouth, but you shall meditate on it day and night, so that you may be careful to do all that is writeen in it. For then you will have good success. Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be frightened, and do not be dismayed, for the Lord your God is with you wherever you go.
What can we learn from God’s words directly to Joshua?
Remember the Lord is with us.
Know God's word and obey.
Be strong and courageous.
Psalm 56:3-4
When I am afraid,
I put my trust in you.
In God, whose word I praise,
In God I trust; I shall not be afraid.
What can flesh do to me?
Trust in the God we know from the Bible.
Decide ahead of time that trust will keep me from being afraid.

Psalm 91:1-5
He who dwells in the shelter of the Most High
will abide in the shadow of the Almighty.
I will say to the Lord, “My refuge and my fortress,
my God, in whom I trust.”
For he will deliver you from the snare of the fowler
and from the deadly pestilance.
He will cover you with his pinions,
and under his wings you will find refuge;
his faithfulness is a shield and buckler.
You will not fear the teroor of night,
nor the arrow that flies by day.
Sound familiar Lauren?
When we dwell now in God’s care now, we will trust in the future and we will not be afraid.

Some of these are commands to not be afraid, some are promises that you will not be afraid and some are declarations that you will not be afraid. Henry is looking at the different verb tenses in Language. Look over these again and look at those verb tenses. See what you think these are: commands from God, promises from God, declarations that the writer is choosing to not be afraid.
Psalm 112:6-8
For the righteous will never be moved;
he will be remembered forever.
He is not afraid of bad news;
his heart is firm, trusting in the Lord.
His heart is steady; he will not be afraid,
until he looks in triumph on his adversaries.
Hello, I like these promises. We become righteous when we are right- Jesus has paid for our sins and we are right with God. Now, as forgiven children of God, we are walking right because we are reading God’s word, praying, worshipping and trying to live our lives according to what God says is right. We are becoming more righteous day by day. These are our promises… we will be remembered, we will not be afraid, we will trust the Lord, our hearts will be firm and steady, we will live in triumph.

We are the head and not the tail. We are royal with King Jesus. God’s hand is on us and with us. Lets walk firm and in victory. We will not fear. We will walk in his ways.
